An open house isn’t one seated event — it’s a rotating crowd of grandparents, coworkers, and friends cycling through over a few hours, often on a warm late-spring or early-summer afternoon. A water slide gives older kids, teens, and the graduate’s own friends something to do that a bounce house doesn’t really offer, and it keeps a backyard event feeling like a party rather than just a place to eat and leave. Timing It Around Memorial Day Weekend
Because our wet rental season starts on Memorial Day Weekend, where your party date falls relative to that weekend matters. A graduation party after Memorial Day gets the full wet experience on any of our combo or slide units. A party in mid-to-late May, before the wet season opens, can still book the same slide — it just runs dry that day, which is still a fully usable attraction, just without the hose running. Either way, the unit and the booking process are the same; only the wet-vs-dry status changes with the calendar.
All-Weekend Rentals for a Graduation Weekend
A lot of Ohio graduation open houses stretch across a full weekend, with out-of-town family in town from Friday through Sunday or Monday. That keeps the slide available for the whole stretch of family time instead of just the day of the main event.
Bounce Houses and Combos for Younger Cousins
Graduation open houses are frequently a family event as much as a celebration for the graduate, which means younger siblings and cousins are often part of the guest list. A standard bounce house or a combo unit rounds out the lineup for that age group without competing with the slide for teen and adult attention. Getting the Yard Ready
- Measure the space. Each product page lists that unit’s item dimensions — our larger dual-lane slides need real length and height clearance, so measure your actual setup area and check for overhead branches or wires before you book.
- Clear a path. We need a 36-inch-wide path to the setup area, gates and doorways included, with no stairs.
- Power within 50 feet. If the nearest outlet is farther than that, let us know and we can add a generator to your order.
- Water source. For a wet setup, you provide the hose from your spigot to the site — we don’t supply one.
- Surface and anchoring. Grass gets long steel stakes; hard surfaces like a patio or driveway get sandbags instead.
- Mark sprinklers and utilities and call 811 at least 48 hours before your event, since we stake most equipment into the ground.
- Pick your spot and mean it. Once a unit is unrolled, it doesn’t get moved, so decide on the location before our crew arrives.
Weather Planning for a Late May or June Party
If wind speeds exceed 15 miles per hour, it isn’t safe to operate an inflatable, and we reserve the right to cancel or postpone. Ordinary rain usually isn’t a dealbreaker — we generally still deliver, and if your party is still on, so are we — but lightning and thunderstorms are different, and activity stops immediately until conditions clear. A weather-related reschedule request needs to reach us before 8am the day before delivery.
Graduation Party Questions Before You Book
Will our water slide run wet if our party is right after Memorial Day?
Yes — our wet rental season runs from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day Weekend, so a graduation party on or after that weekend gets the full wet experience. A party earlier in May can still book the same slide, run dry.
Can we book a slide for the entire graduation weekend, not just one day?
Yes. Several of our larger dual-lane slides are available as all-weekend rentals, delivered Friday and picked up Monday morning, which fits a weekend of visiting family better than a single-day rental.
Do we need a tent as well as an inflatable?

Is a water slide safe for a mixed-age crowd, from grandparents to little cousins?
The slide itself is best suited to guests who can climb stairs confidently — older kids, teens, and adults — with one rider per lane at a time. For younger cousins, a standard bounce house is usually the better and safer fit, with our usual limit of six people at a time.
What happens if it rains on the day of our party?
We usually still deliver in the rain, and if your party is still on, so is your rental. Wind above 15 miles per hour, lightning, and thunderstorms are the exceptions, and a weather reschedule needs to reach us before 8am the day before delivery.
