Not every event needs a banquet hall or a formal venue β€” sometimes the best party is the one happening right in your own yard. A backyard party tent rental gives you covered, shaded space for guests, food, and seating without depending on the weather cooperating or your house being big enough to hold everyone inside. CLE Bounce Houses rents a 20×20 high-peak tent for backyard events across Cleveland and the surrounding suburbs, built and installed to handle a real gathering β€” not a flimsy pop-up canopy from a big-box store.

A high-peak tent has a steeper, pointed roofline than a standard frame tent, which does two practical things for a backyard setting: it sheds rain more effectively so water doesn’t pool overhead, and it creates genuine standing headroom in the center rather than a low, boxy ceiling. For a party where people are mingling, serving food, and moving around, that extra clearance makes the space feel like an actual room instead of a tarp stretched over folding tables.

What a Backyard Tent Party Is Good For

Birthdays. Kids’ birthday parties and milestone adult birthdays both benefit from a defined, shaded space β€” somewhere to set up a cake table, gift table, and seating that isn’t at the mercy of a surprise afternoon shower. A tent also gives you a visual β€œparty zone” in the yard, which helps corral a large group of kids or guests into one area.

Family reunions. Reunions tend to run long β€” often a full afternoon into evening β€” and pull together guests of very different ages who all need somewhere to sit, eat, and get out of direct sun. A tent with tables and chairs already in place means you’re not borrowing folding chairs from three different relatives or hoping the picnic table seats everyone.

Casual get-togethers, cookouts & holiday gatherings. Graduation cookouts, retirement parties, Fourth of July gatherings, and other casual seasonal get-togethers all share the same basic need: covered seating for more people than a patio or deck can comfortably hold. A backyard tent extends your usable outdoor space for the day without any construction or permanent structure.

Sizing a Tent to Your Yard

How much space you actually need. Our current tent is a 20-foot by 20-foot high-peak structure β€” 400 square feet of covered area. Before booking, walk your yard and account for more than just the tent footprint: you’ll want clearance around the perimeter for stakes and guy lines (or weighted anchors β€” more on that below), plus room for anything you’re placing outside the tent itself, like a grill, cooler station, or overflow seating. As a rough rule of thumb, measure the flattest, most open rectangular section of your yard and compare it against 20×20 plus a few feet of buffer on each side.

Guest count and layout considerations. Exact seated and standing capacity depends on how you configure the tables and chairs inside β€” round tables for dining seat fewer people per square foot than rows of chairs set up for a ceremony-style layout. With the 20×20 package’s 48 chairs, you can comfortably seat up to 48 guests at once. When you request a quote, we can talk through your guest count and expected layout (dining, mingling, or a mix) to help you gauge whether the 20×20 comfortably fits your group or whether a larger footprint makes more sense.

The Tent, Table & Chair Package

What’s included. Rather than renting a bare tent and leaving you to source tables and chairs elsewhere, our 20×20 High Peak Tent Package bundles the tent with 48 chairs and 6 tables for one straightforward price. Pricing varies by tent size β€” see our Tent Packages page for current numbers β€” but bundling the tent with tables and chairs is typically a simpler and more economical option than piecing together a tent rental, a table rental, and a chair rental from separate vendors.

Why we package rather than rent tables/chairs separately. Tables and chairs are available through us as part of a tent package only β€” we don’t rent them on their own. If your backyard party needs a tent, tables, and seating, the package is designed to cover that in one order rather than requiring you to coordinate multiple rentals or pickups. If your event is larger than a single 20×20 tent can comfortably host, ask us about additional tent sizes and package options when you request your quote β€” pricing for larger configurations is available on request.

Setup Timing β€” What to Expect

Tent setup is not a same-day, arrive-and-leave service. Tents are typically delivered and set up one to three days before your event, and taken down one to three days after. That window gives our crew flexibility around weather and scheduling, and it means your tent will already be standing β€” not being assembled β€” as guests start arriving. Plan your yard prep (mowing, clearing furniture, marking sprinkler heads or buried lines) for a day or two before your requested setup date, not the morning of the party itself.

Backyard-Specific Setup Considerations

Backyard installations come with a few practical variables that a banquet hall or open field simply doesn’t have. Thinking through these ahead of time helps your setup day go smoothly.

Grass condition and ground type. Our standard setup method anchors the tent into the ground with stakes, which works best on grass or soil that isn’t currently saturated, frozen, or freshly seeded. If your yard has a hard surface like a patio, driveway, or pavers where staking isn’t possible, ask us about our add-on anchoring options β€” we offer concrete blocks and water barrels as weighted alternatives to ground stakes, which lets us accommodate concrete, asphalt, and paver surfaces as well.

Gates, fences & access width. Tent components and setup equipment need to get from the driveway or street into your backyard, so measure your gate openings and any side-yard pathways in advance. A narrow gate, a tight side-yard run, or obstacles like AC units and downspouts can affect how quickly (or whether) our crew can bring materials through. Mentioning gate width and any access obstacles when you request your quote helps us plan the setup correctly the first time.

Distance from the house, power & lighting. Consider how far the tent site is from your house β€” that affects everything from running an extension cord for string lights or a speaker to how far guests (and servers) are walking with food. If you’re interested in lighting for an evening event, let us know when you book; lighting is available as an add-on, and side walls are also available if you want extra wind or privacy coverage along the tent’s open sides.

Good To Know

Backyard Party Tent Rental FAQs

How much space do I need in my yard for a tent?

The 20×20 High Peak Tent covers a 400-square-foot footprint, but you’ll want additional clearance around the perimeter for stakes or anchoring equipment. When you request a quote, we can help you measure your available space and confirm whether the 20×20 fits comfortably.

Can the tent be set up on a patio, driveway, or other hard surface?

Ground stakes are our standard anchoring method and work best on grass or soil. For hard surfaces where staking isn’t an option, ask us about hard-surface setup β€” we offer add-on weighted anchoring (concrete blocks or water barrels) that lets us accommodate concrete, asphalt, and pavers.

Do you rent tables and chairs without a tent?

No β€” tables and chairs are available only as part of a tent package, not as a standalone rental.

How many people does the 20×20 tent seat?

Capacity depends on your table/chair layout, but the 20×20 package comes with 48 chairs, so it comfortably seats up to 48 guests.

When will the tent be set up before my party?

Tents are typically delivered and installed one to three days before your event and taken down one to three days after β€” not on the same day as your party.

What if it rains?

Normal rain and heat aren’t grounds for cancellation or a refund, since a properly set-up tent still functions fine in those conditions β€” this is different from our bounce house rain policy. We do reserve the right to delay, modify, or cancel a setup at no cancellation fee for safety in severe weather, such as sustained or gusting winds around 20 mph or higher, lightning, or hail. If you decide to cancel over an ordinary rain forecast, that falls under our standard cancellation policy.

How far in advance should I book?

We ask for at least 5 days’ notice to book a backyard tent rental.

Is there a minimum rental requirement?

No β€” there’s no minimum order.

Do you deliver to my suburb?

We regularly serve Westlake, Avon, North Ridgeville, Lakewood, Bay Village, Parma, Strongsville, and other Cleveland-area communities. If you don’t see your city listed, contact us to confirm delivery.

What tent sizes are available?

Currently 20×20, 20×30, 20×40, and 20×60 high-peak tents, each available alone or as a package with matching tables and chairs.

Do you need to know where utility lines are?

Yes β€” we stake tents into the ground, so we need to avoid buried irrigation, invisible dog fence, and utility lines. Let us know about anything underground when you book, and we’ll plan the placement around it.

Do you offer lighting or side walls?

Yes, both are available as add-ons β€” useful for evening events or extra wind/sun/privacy coverage.

How much does a tent rental cost?

Pricing varies by tent size and whether you choose the tent alone or a package with tables and chairs. Each tent above links straight to its booking page, where you’ll always see current rates β€” or see our Tent Packages page. Request a quote with your date and guest count for exact pricing.
